This article provides background on the first ever, highly successful “I Read Canada Day”, inspired by author Eric Walters and the result of many organizations including Canadian School Libraries working together to make it happen. Many twitter responses with photos are included from participants across schools in Canada including political leaders and celebrities reading Canadian. The article concludes with a summary of remarkable themes that emerged as schools celebrated on February 19.
