In celebration of National School Library Day teacher-librarians organize a district wide adoption of the “Drop Everything and Read!” program in Kamloops, British Columbia, Kamloops/Thompson School District No. 73.

An enthusiastic librarian at the Val des Cerfs School Board in Montérégie, Quebec outlines the proactive and collaborative programs developed centrally  to promote the joy of reading in district schools including visits from “Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman” (the author). Family literacy program also discussed.

As part of the continued focus on the role of the school library learning commons in addressing summer reading loss, Canadian School Libraries (CSL) chair and co-chair, co-editors of the Canadian School Libraries Journal, provide background and three key findings to research conducted with best-selling author Eric Walters in 2020 on summer lending demonstrating its success. Recommendations and ideas for implementing are included along with the CSL summer lending poster.
