TEACH Magazine, an educational  journal based in Ontario, collaborated with Canadian School Libraries and Bibliovideo, to produce a video series featuring 12 Canadian-authored books focused on three themes:  Indigenous Voices, Global Issues, and Student Well-Being.   Each video includes a related lesson with original teaching resources for follow-up and follow through.  These valuable teaching tools help engage students on a variety of global issues.

A British Columbia District Learning Commons Teacher-Librarian shares successes and reflections incurred during a student project developed at his former public school Montessori based school, grades 4-7. Rather than having students produce a traditional “specific product” report on a country of choice, the project goal was to identify an issue in a country and devise a solution to be presented “Dragon’s Den style” to the teachers playing the role of funders. Incredibly varied presentations ensued, with students fondly recalling the project years later.
