The Teacher Librarians of Newfoundland and Labrador (TLNL) network post a concise description of the collaborative role of the teacher-librarian in implementing five strands of a school library commons program listed as: “Engaging Multi-Literacies, Building Partnerships, Participating School Development & Advocating Leadership, Co-teaching & Instruction and Designing Flexible Learning Environments”.

This Ontario teacher-librarian has put the Fostering Literacies to Empower Life-Long Learners standard from Leading Learning: Standards of Practice for School Library Learning Commons in Canada into action by reviewing the implications and potential of the new Ontario Grade 9 English curriculum and exploring ways she can support new curriculum and help lead her school in the transition.
